7PM-10PMAt the crossing between DJing, illumination and visual arts, VJs and visual artists produce live performances using video to create a heightened experience of music. This creative practice originated in the 60s and 70s, and became seriously refined when electronic dance music and club culture saw the light of day in the 80s and 90s. The main goal is synesthesia, to see that we hear in music and express what we hear visually.
This workshop is an introduction to VJing, live visuals and illumination in general and we will use the permanent setup at Culture Box with the center screen, light ceiling and a controller and computer to control the visuals, and the main focus is how to create a total experience, where music and visuals will merge into one. The workshop is aimed at beginners and intermediates, but everyone is welcome.
