First time I went to Culture Box…

…Culture Box had just opened when I began my journey there in 2005 – and I’ve been part of it ever since 🥳 In the early years, I often found myself dancing alone on a nearly empty dance floor… but the club really took off around the 2010s, and now it’s often sold-out.

I come here because…

…I feel at home ❤️🥰. I’m drawn by the line-up, but what matters most to me is the vibe and the warm, diversity, friendly atmosphere. I always meet familiar faces and friends 😀

The staff are amazing – from the doormen to the bar, wardrobe, runners, and safety team. Many of you know me, and it’s always a great to see you. I truly feel welcomed every time, thank you for that 🙏

When people ask me, “Where are you from?”, I often reply: “I’m from Culture Box… I was born here!” 😂. Maybe I’m a bit like a well-worn piece of furniture – full of memories and stories – but still standing strong. I belong here ❤️

My favourite DJ or live act is…

…Ahh, I have so many! 🤩

Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Paul Kalkbrenner, Booka Shade, Jan Blomqvist, Solomun, Oliver Huntemann, Kaufmann, Worakls, Klangkarussell, Christian Craken… and many more.

There are so many talented Danish DJs I love too and lots of them I know personally. I won’t drop names… none mentioned, none forgotten – you know who you are 🙏🥰

In general, I’m drawn to dark, deep, and slower beats (125–132 BPM): underground, Berlin-inspired sounds, minimal, hypnotic, horizontal, melodic, and emotional. If the music gets too fast or too “uplifting,” it can actually trigger my nervous system and I can’t really dance to it (it’s for the youngster’s 😅).

My best Culture Box memory…

…There are so many beautiful memories. I honestly can’t choose just one 🥳🤩. But I’ll never forget the first time I saw Ben Klock – that was something special. And of course, all the unforgettable New Year’s parties ✨🎊🎉

I prepare for a night out by…

…Sometimes I meet up with friends for pre-drinks, other times I come straight from a private gathering (often alone) into a great techno night. I always check the line-up at my favourite venues beforehand 😁.

And I never go out without my “survival kit” which means: Extra cigarettes, some fans 🪭 , chewing gum, wet wipes, snacks, stickers, a brush, and more. People are surprised when they see my bag (how much shit I carry). But after 25 years of clubbing, I know what’s needed… and I’ve “saved” quite a few people along the way! 😅

My dancing can best be described as…

…Moving with the beat and melting into the music. The rhythm resonates with my heart, and I feel a deep sense of coherence – like becoming part of an open field of energy ❤️
