SATURDAY 28 DECEMBER
Open11PM – 8AM
Having long wandered the streets in search of the cream of the crop among untried talents, we are pleased to announce that our endeavors have borne fruit and we will present a handful of the most promising DJs in the scene to our faithful audience. For the 6th edition of Culture Box Debut, here are four quality artists representing as many different musical inspirations.
First off is Yuri, alias of Susanne Benther Mouritsen. In the spirit of anti-genre and the aesthetic of beauty, the sound of Yuri is ceremonious and hard hitting at the same time. Her work carries the sounds of industrial into an evolving sound that is Yuri’s own, summing up elegance and playfulness.
Next up is Sara Vita & Claudia Smith, a Copenhagen-based DJ-duo most prominently known for their monthly show on MMH-Radio ‘Baby On Deck’ and their DJ-residency in the creative collective of UUNIT. Expect a combination of Detroit Techno, Left-field Techno and Breakbeat in addition to the more familiar club sounds. By not focusing hardcore on genre but rather atmosphere, they try to play the music that creates a feeling that fits the time and place.
Thyregod, formerly known as Cozle, is the man behind the rave initiative cph.lsd.panda, focussing on pop up parties all around town. Having been in the scene for over 15 years, Thyregod understands what happens on both sides of the DJ booth, and will be playing House, Deep and Techno for a solid 2 hours.
And last but not least is Conroy. Born in Ireland, he quickly fell in love with electronic music. From the early days of handing out promotion flyers for events on the streets of Dublin to now helping organise parties around Copenhagen with the Pure Echo crew, he has seen a bit of everything. While passionate about all styles of electronic music he has branched to a solid industrial techno feel.
Unlimited free Tuborg Gold included in the entrance between 11pm and midnight so don’t be late.
