GEMS OF 2025

This wasn’t easy — too many moments deserve the spotlight. But here are a few we’re taking with us into the new year. Not an exhaustive list, just meaningful.

CULTURE BOX 20TH BIRTHDAY RAVE

Let’s start with a big one.

In 2025, Culture Box turned 20! And we marked the moment with a 20-hour birthday rave.

It was something special to reunite with faces from the very beginning, friends from different eras, and newly initiated souls. All sharing the same dancefloor. Generations met in a collective, euphoric moment that reminded us why this space exists.

The past was present, the future felt close. Speaking of what’s next: we’ve already announced the lineup for our 21st Birthday on Saturday 31 January 2026.

CULTURE BOX APPOINTED AS A NETWORK AND GENRE VENUE BY THE DANISH ARTS FOUNDATION

It might sound a little technical, but this really matters.

Once again, Culture Box was appointed a Network & Genre Venue by the Danish Arts Foundation, in collaboration with the Copenhagen Municipality. This recognition allows us to continue doing what we believe in: amplifying niche electronic music genres and supporting the communities around them.

It’s about long-term commitment, artistic risk-taking, and creating space for scenes that grow from the underground up.

UNBOXED: DJ WORKSHOP BY BOUDICA AND START FROM SCRATCH

We love when our space becomes a place for learning and craft.

This year, Samantha Togni brought her Boudica concept to Copenhagen and, together with Start From Scratch, hosted a DJ beginners workshop for the FLINTA community. Seeing curious minds gathered around the workstations was genuinely moving — hands on mixers, ears tuned in, questions flowing.

From music theory and EQs to faders, beatmatching, transitions and effects, the room buzzed with focus, encouragement and shared discovery. A reminder that the dancefloor always starts with knowledge, generosity and practice.

RUNNING RAVE 2025

The turnout and support for this one were extraordinary, and it keeps growing year by year.

Two rounds through Fælledparken, powered by a fully equipped DJ bike, with Rasmus Lützen setting the pace and the vibe. Sweat, smiles and movement, all synced to the beat.

We loved every second of it. Some of the CB crew have even started in a running club just to be ready to shine next year 😉

So mark your calendar: Running Rave 2026 takes place on Wednesday, 17 June.

LOPPEN x REFFEN x CULTURE BOX

Bringing people together through shared musical moments is at the core of what we do.

In July 2025, together with the iconic Loppen and Reffen, we presented a live electronic concert with Liminal — filling the summer air by Copenhagen’s waterfront with rhythm, curiosity and creative energy.

CAMP TROPICANA x CULTURE BOX AT ROSKILDE FESTIVAL

The community, creativity and joy of Dream City met us in full force. Dancing under the Roskilde summer sky, we were swept up in beats, fun, and the kindness shared by the amazing Camp Tropicana crew.

CULTURE BOX CHILLOUT 2025

Our beloved annual day festival at Østre Anlæg brings electronic music outdoors, connecting with the community beyond our venue.

Set in a charming green space, with a curated lineup and food & drinks, the festival offers a relaxed, dreamy way to experience electronic music — from Ambient and Chillout to Electronica and Downtempo.

HANGAREN x CULTURE BOX

Our yearly collaboration with Hangaren is about growing the electronic music community across Copenhagen. Through shared knowledge, stronger networks and new audiences, we build bridges between organisations and scenes.

Working closely with our friends at Hangaren, we love showcasing outstanding artists from the flourishing local and international electronic music community.

SPEKTAKEL FESTIVAL AT STALDEN KLITMØLLER

We know that creativity and enthusiasm for electronic music thrive across many corners of Denmark. But did we know it lived and breathed in Klitmøller, Thy? Well, we know now!

Together with Spillestedet Thy and Stalden, we were invited to curate a scene at Spektakel Festival. An open, curious crowd, raw surroundings, and a strong local energy made it an unforgettable experience.

Huge thanks for the invitation. It was truly inspiring and a powerful reminder of how vibrant the electronic music community is, far beyond the usual centres.

CULTURE BOX TOUR AT VOLUME VILLAGE AND SH35

We love sharing our passion for the scene with friends and partner venues across Denmark.

In early September, we co-curated nights at Volume Village in Aarhus and SH35 in Aalborg, bringing our signature house and techno sounds on the road. If you’re in the area, check out these venues and their crews. They do vital work supporting grassroots artists and keeping the Danish electronic music scene open, vibrant and welcoming for new talent.

GOD GOES DEEP x KAPERNAUMSKIRKEN x CULTURE BOX

We love collaborating with cultural partners who create deep, meaningful connections to electronic music.

On September 19, 2025, together with God Goes Deep, we curated a soulful autumn night where Salma Milt and Palma guided the audience through an ambient journey of sound and meditation, set within the community-focused Kapernaumskirken in Copenhagen NV.
