Published August 26, 2021

Darcio works at a warehouse, he kite surfs and he loves to DJ. That’s what brings him to Culture Box’s Open Practice Sessions this Thursday in August. We talked to him right after. Read here how it went.

What’s your relation to electronic music?

Electronic music can take me to a new dimension where I can be and dream whatever I like, it takes me to my imaginary world.

What’s your relation to Culture Box?

Culture Box was the first club I visited in Copenhagen. I come from Portugal and once arrived in Copenhagen I was looking for the best club and more knowledge about the electronic music scene. It was love at first sight.

For how long have you been DJing?

I started in 1997 at school parties.

What’s your taste in music?

I like music that can make people dream, think and dance. I’m influenced by many different DJs from Green Velvet to Sven Väth and Seth Troxler etc.

What did you practice today?

Today I started in an electro vibe from Kraftwerk remixes to Tiga and Miss Kittin.

What worked well for you today?

After a long time only playing vinyl it’s great to test the CDJs at Culture Box and getting more comfortable with new technologies.

What do you need to practice more?

I need to advance in the new technologies and effects that come with it.

Based on today’s practice do you have any notes to yourself?

Yes, an organized music library makes all the difference.
