FACES OF CULTURE BOX: THOR

Published January 15, 2025

With our Faces of Culture Box-series we’re profiling good friends of the house, staff and regulars who all participate in making our venue a vibrant and stimulating affair. Meet one of our cherished regulars, Thor.

First time I went to Culture Box…

My hair might be grey, but I’m pretty new to this whole scene. So my first time at Culture Box was not that long ago actually, back in the spring of 2022 for your 17th birthday weekend. Seems crazy for me to think it’s been less than 3 years that I’ve been going to Culture Box, cause I feel so at home and have so many great memories from this place.

I come here because…

Of the sense of community and the vibe of Culture Box–created both by the staff and the crowd. Here everyone is free to express themselves and enjoy the music in their own way, and people take care of and respect each other. And of course I come here for the music–you folks just keep booking my favourites, and new artists that become new favourites, so I keep coming back.

My best Culture Box memory…

It’s impossible for me to pick one, but Tim Andresen is responsible for quite a few of them. It’s been several times where my friends and I have just been in awe with what he puts together. He also played on the night where two of my best friends took their wedding party to Culture Box–and that was for sure also one of my best memories as well.

Another huge highlight was Teenage Mutants back in May. I didn’t knew them before, but they made me a huge fan for sure! LOVE you guys for bringing them back in May 2025!

And generally, everytime I see favourites like SCHAARUP, NILU, Baime, MiniMalene, Aja Gulris and Anders HP on the time table, I know more best memories will be coming up.

My favourite electronic music artist is…

I’ve got so many favourites, from a really wide spectrum of genres, but to single out one, I’ll say Gæo!

I think the music he creates himself is incredible, and the way he blends it together with other amazing stuff is something really special. I’ve seen him several times at Culture Box, and can’t wait for 25th of January where he’ll be back, doing a live set/concert, followed by Aja Gulris and 19:26, so that’s going to be a BIG night for sure!

What I love most about Culture Box is…

…is the place to enjoy the best music with the best people. I love that when I look around, I always see people being in the moment, either by melting together with the music, dancing exactly how they like to dance, embracing old or new friends or whatever–just having an amazing time. That’s what I love about Culture Box!
