PRACTICE SESSION JOURNAL: CARLOS

Published December 16, 2022

On Tuesdays we offer open practice sessions in our Red Box. This week Carlos came by for his DJ session with strong support from Claudia. Next week they switch the roles around. We had a small chat with Carlos.

For how long have you been DJing?

About 2 and a half years, and 1 year in a professional way. I started just for fun, I was playing music with friends, then I went to play for more people, parties, B- days, raves and electronic clubs in Chile.

What did you practice today?

Today I played a set that I’ve been working on for my social media and finished last week. It is Techno and House, I really love these two genres. It also has a few Chilean notes in the beginning.

What worked well for you today?

Great opportunity to get my hands into a flow and to practice with a high quality sound

What do you need to practice more?

To practice transitions is always good, and even more when you don’t have a cdj at home, and like you know, practice makes you a master.

Based on today’s practice do you have any other notes to yourself?

First of all, arrive on time, then just keep focus on my idea, press ‘play’ to the music and flow with it!
