FACES OF CULTURE BOX: KENNETH

Published June 9, 2022

With our Faces of Culture Box-series we’re profiling good friends of the house, staff and regulars who all participate in making our venue a vibrant and stimulating affair. Meet Kenneth, one of Culture Box’s cherished security persons.

Staff position: Security person

I started working at Culture Box in… the beginning of 2019.

I enjoy working as a security person at Culture Box because… of the staff, the guests, and the good vibes. I’ve never worked in a place where the relationship between the security and other staff has been like this. It is amazing. The guests who are visiting the place are friendly and open to the mindset at Culture Box which make working here a pleasure.

Attitude Code for a safer space is important because… everybody should be given the opportunity to enjoy themselves. With an attitude code the behaviour is in focus and by applying the attitude code as a main part of the house rules we make sure that everyone knows that we have zero tolerance on behaviour that makes others feel uncomfortable. It should be common sense, but unfortunately it isn’t always the case.

I wish that every guest at Culture Box experience… a great night in a special vibe and that they feel safe.

I prepare for a shift by… That’s a tough one, because there is a lot going on. Mentally you have to be at the right place, you have to know what to do if a situation requires your attention. I always get a nap before a shift, a clear head is important. I go through some situations in my head, good and bad, to prepare my mind and focus on the night and clear it of everyday trouble.

What I wish for the future of Copenhagen nightlife is… a safer space where people can go out and drink if they want to, dance if they feel like it and just enjoy themselves.
